The Taliban are using Twitter to publish messages. Now demand for American politicians to block the use of the service
Taliban organization has been using social media time and twitters regularly on Twitter, where it connects to the statements. These concern the fighting on the ground and include information on battles and attacks that occurred. The British Telegraph reports that two prominent accounts are @ ABalkhi and @ alemarahweb, when the first has 4100 followers and two 6200. These twittering tweets to accounts such as "cowardly invaders" and Afghan puppet nascent government. " According to Lieberman, the activity violates the Terms of Twitter's official, stating that the user must be a person who is assigned by the United States receives services - a criterion which does not meet the Taliban, naturally.
Others claim that deleting the accounts will be freedom of speech, and the accounts are closed because of who runs them and not because of what they say - the act of silencing. "Blocking opinions contrary to those of the United States is as dangerous. Where it stopped? Where do we draw the line? What if an American will publish a tweet that opposes the state? Would it be illegal?" Asks JD Rakr.
Twitter would not address the issue and even admitted being asked to delete the accounts in question.
